Faithful over a few things

Aug 05, 2026

Have you ever felt that your spiritual growth is limited by your circumstances? You might think, how can I do something meaningful and significant in this world when:

  • My hands are full with raising my children
  • I’m barely making ends meet
  • I’m fatigued from my physical ailments
  • I’m battling my own mental and emotional crises
  • I’m grieving my own losses and disappointments?

You are certainly not alone in wrestling with these feelings; we daresay all of us have struggled with discouragement stemming from our frailities and our own unmet expectations. However, Mother Siluana offers us a different perspective. The fulfillment of our God-given purpose does not require the absence of struggle or an abundance of time, energy, and resources. Our path to salvation is not “out there.” Instead, our journey back to who God created us to be begins by going inward.  By starting with ourselves and nourishing our minds and hearts through prayer, gratitude, and repentance, we can turn our physical being into a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.

By being faithful in small things—such as guarding our tongues, meditating on what is lovely and light-filled, and detaching from the noise and distractions of the world—our bodies can become vessels that Christ fills and heals with Himself. Little daily acts of obedience and restraint chip away at the pride and impulses fueling our stress and dis-ease. These meager offerings from a humble and trusting heart will be multiplied by God in miraculous ways. Right now, in this very moment, place, and season, we have everything we need to be transformed from the inside out.

This week, we encourage you to reflect on the following questions as part of your morning stillness routine:

God, please reveal to me the passions and mindsets I need to repent of so I can live this precious life with joy and peace!
